TORN | Drawing challenge Day 2

Hi again!
Another day, another drawing challenge completed.
It's nice knowing that I have something in store for me each day for the next month - as well as doing a daily blog post to tie in with it - it's all great motivation for myself.
So today's theme was 'torn'. I didn't give myself much time for this one as I was out visiting the north of the island today - which I did get some footage of and am hoping to put in my vlog section, just at a later date, more than likely when I leave Denmark - but I'm still fairly happy with the final result.

Definitely the most generic idea I could have chosen for this idea, but nonetheless it is my own take on this theme.
For the most part, I think the outcome was 'ok', but I think it lacks a lot of depth and dimension. I really had fun playing with the use of colour, I've seen it done on so many different sketches, so it was nice to experiment with that myself.
When I say it lacks depth and dimension, I think I mean it more in terms of the character herself; I maybe could have played with the facial expressions a bit more to make them seem a bit more meaningful, and I think if I had a white pen or white acrylic to hand I could have added some sheen - therefore maybe adding some dimension. But these are all things to learn from and improve as the challenges go on.
So that was today's challenge! I think I'm also going to include a sub-post in these drawing challenge blogs of my boyfriend's own interpretation on these drawing challenges. I'll put them in a gallery below, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do (please excuse the poor lighting).
